To work as part of a dynamic team to implement a visionary socially driven children’s orchestra centre in the Raploch community, based on the Venezuelan model El Sistema.
The video shows children of Il Sistema in Maracaibo practising during a recent visit by Brian Wilson and Mark Hogarth of the Scottish Venezuelan Society.

To create a string orchestra comprising of as many children as possible from the the community of all abilities with the focus on the social development of the children.

To use the orchestra to grow children’s confidence, respect, aspiration, drive, understanding, empathy and emotional intelligence.

To be a positive role model and consistent source of support for the children.

To create opportunities for parents, families, schools and the community to experience new life opportunities, including excursions and performances outwith the community and to contribute to the orchestra.

To individually lead on areas of development identified with the Senior Musician and Director for example, adult workshops, working with vulnerable groups, working with children with additional support needs etc.

To support the development of international links and cultural exchanges between the Raploch community and a community in Venezuela.

To assist with the development and implementation of systems and procedures for monitoring and evaluating and recognising the development of the orchestra and individual children.
